01

Your project

Use the same currency for every cost. Currency selection changes labels, not exchange rates.

02

Material

Enter filament for the whole batch, including supports, brims, and purge waste. The extra allowance adds material cost only.

03

Time & running costs

Print duration and hands-on work are totals for the whole batch. Use average power, rather than maximum printer power. Values shown are editable examples.

04

Batch & finishing

Batch material, power, machine, and labor costs are divided by the number of good items. Packaging and other costs apply to each item.

05

Selling price

Enter your own selling fees. The fixed fee assumes each item sells separately. Include shipping you pay in Other costs. Sales tax is not included.

How the price is calculated

Material cost = filament weight / spool weight x spool price, plus your extra material allowance. Power cost = print hours x average watts / 1,000 x electricity rate.

Margin: price = (production cost + fixed fee) / (1 - selling fee rate - target margin). Markup: price = (production cost x (1 + markup) + fixed fee) / (1 - selling fee rate).

Break-even includes production cost and selling fees. A 30% markup is less than a 30% margin.
